Do you want the utimate backcountry trip? Let us suggest the arctic wilderness of the Brooks Range, Gates of the Arctic National Park. This is as remote as you can get in Alaska. The Gates of the Arctic National Park only sees about 600 visitors a year. Group size is limited to six people with a maximum of 1 adults. Becasue this trek is the most isolated, youth participants must be at least 14 years of age. You will fly into Fairbanks. We will then do a gear check and shake down and take you to the other side of the airport to the smaller planes and load you and your gear on a plane and fly you to Bettles. When you get to Bettles you will meet with the Gates of the Arctic National Park Rangers and receive a park orientation. Then we will load you on a float plane and fly you into one of 3 destinations in the park. You will spend a week backpacking and the float plane will pick you up at another lake (or the same one depending on the trek you choose) and fly you back to Bettles where you will load on another plane and fly back to Fairbanks. |
